MK Dons 0-1 Swansea (MK Dons win 5-4 on penalties)
Johnstone's Paint Trophy Area Final - Monday, 25 February 2008
Swansea City were denied a trip to Wembley following a penalty shoot-out defeat to MK Dons in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy area final.
The Dons held a 1-0 lead from the first leg at the Liberty Stadium, but Jason Scotland levelled the scores on aggregate when he scored from the penalty spot after 20 minutes.
Both sides had chances to win it in a frenetic second half, with Swans midfielder Shaun MacDonald and the Dons' Kevin Gallen both guilty of wasting good chances.
But that was how it stayed and after both teams failed to find a winner in extra time, it was left to the lottery of penalties to see who would face either Morecambe or Grimsby.
The Dons converted all five of their spot-kicks, while goal scorer Jason Scotland was the unlucky man to miss as former Swans goalkeeper Willy Gueret came back to haunt his old club with a fine save to send Paul Ince's side to a Wembley final.

MK DONS: Gueret, Lewington, Diallo (Broughton, 84), O'Hanlon, Swailes, Andrews, Cameron (Stirling, 80), Dyer, Navarro, Gallen, Johnson.

SWANS: De Vries, Tate, Monk, Painter (Austin, 18), Rangel, Pratley, Robinson, Way, Butler (MacDonald, 65), Scotland, Brandy (Duffy, 79).
