Toshack calls for U23s reaction

Cameron Toshack wants Swansea City Under-23s to deliver an improved performance when they face Derby County in Premier League 2 at the Liberty on Monday (7pm).

The young Swans go into the game on the back of a 5-2 defeat at West Ham with the U23s taking just a point from their opening three games in division 1.

“We were well below par in that match and we want a positive reaction come Monday,” said Toshack.

“The team has held their hands up and we have spoken about that defeat and need to learn the lessons from it.

“There will be no easy games in this league. We need to be competitive against Derby and increase our performance levels to where we know they can be.

“Our draw against Manchester United showed that if we are at our best, we are capable of competing and we need to deliver that momentum again on Monday.”

The match will be streamed live via www.swanseacity.com
