TRANSFER DEADLINE DAY: QPR midfielder Leroy Fer joins Swansea City on loan

1st February

Swansea City have completed the signing of Queens Park Rangers midfielder Leroy Fer on loan until the end of the season, subject to international clearance.
The 26-year-old, who has been capped 11 times by Holland, becomes the club's second senior signing of the January transfer window following the arrival of striker Alberto Paloschi from Chievo last week.
Fer began his career in the academy at Feyenoord, going on to make over 100 appearances for the club after being handed his debut at the age of 17.
During his time at De Kuip Stadium, the midfielder featured in the Uefa Cup and helped the club win the Dutch Cup in 2008.
After drawing plaudits for his box-to-box displays and technical ability, Fer moved to FC Twente in August 2011 where he would work under Steve McClaren before he made the move to England to join Norwich City in August 2013.

The midfielder impressed for the Canaries, scoring four goals in 32 games despite the club eventually being relegated to the Championship at the end of the 2013-14 season.
He then moved to Queens Park Rangers in August 2014, making 31 appearances and scoring six goals - including an impressive 25-yard strike against Swansea in a 1-1 draw at Loftus Road.
Despite his goals, the R's were relegated back to the Championship at the end of last season, with Fer scoring two goals in 19 appearances so far this season.
He won the first of his 11 Holland caps in 2010 and was part of the squad for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, scoring against Chile in the group stage.
