Tremmel: Plenty of positives

10th November

Gerhard Tremmel feels the Swans have reasons to be cheerful despite Stoke City's last-gasp equaliser at the Liberty.
A pulsating six-goal encounter ended 3-3 as the Swans fought back from 2-0 down in the first half to edging 3-2 ahead in the 86th minute thanks to goals from Wilfried Bony (2) and Nathan Dyer.
It looked as though they had capped a remarkable comeback to take all three points but the drama lasted until the final second at the Liberty as referee Robert Madley awarded the Potters a penalty in added-on time, which sub Charlie Adam converted.
The Swans were left devastated as they were denied three points, in what was the second time in four days that they had conceded in added-on time following on from the Europa League clash with Kuban Krasnodar in Russia.
But Tremmel believes there are plenty of positives to take from this week, particularly their revival against Stoke.

"The penalty was very difficult for us to take because none of us thought it was a penalty. I don't think their players even appealed," said the German keeper. "So it was a surprise to say the least.
"We deserved all three points and not just one.
"But I think we can take a lot from this game. We showed a lot of character, fight and desire. It is not easy when you are 2-0 behind, particularly at home, but we got back into the game and the fans helped us a lot.
"After the derby defeat the boys were devastated, but it was important that we came out of that game and showed the fans how much we wanted to do it for them.
"We put in a good performance against Kuban and now we have done very well from 2-0 against Stoke today.
"So for us to show the qualities we have this week gives us a lot to be positive about.
"Yes, it's only one point for us today, but aside from that we take the positives from the performance for the matches ahead."
The Barclays Premier League now takes a break for the international fixtures, which gives some members of the squad a chance to recharge their batteries.
The Swans are next in action at Fulham before a busy period picks up with a home Europa League tie with Group A leaders Valencia followed by a trip to Manchester City.
