U18s PREVIEW: Swans start FA Youth Cup campaign

16th December

Swansea City Under-18s kick off their FA Youth Cup campaign at home to Wolves at Landore on Friday evening (7pm).
The young Swans, who reached the fourth round last season before being defeated by Arsenal, go into the game on the back of one defeat in five following a 2-0 reverse at Fulham.
Coach Chris Llewellyn wants the young Swans to make the most of their opportunity in the cup competition.
"I hope we take our recent performances into Friday's game" he said. "We are excited to have a break from the league and start this season's campaign in the youth cup.
"Our performances in the last seven games have been good but it has not been matched by the results.
"We just have to keep going, keep performing the way we have been and get a positive result.
"I have definitely seen progress over the last few months but there is no doubt that fine margins have cost us.
"In recent weeks we have conceded late goals which have cost us points, but overall we have produced good performances.
"We want to have a good run in this competition. We know we will face Newcastle away if we reach the next round so that is a good incentive to get a good result tonight."
