Van der Hoorn | Swansea City showing maturity

Mike van der Hoorn feels Swansea City’s growing maturity is being reflected in their strong start to the Championship season.

The Swans sit top of the Championship table after winning 2-1 at Charlton on Wednesday night.

Steve Cooper’s side are unbeaten on their travels, and the Swans have suffered just one defeat from their first 10 league games this term.

Their away form has been a marked upturn from a previous sequence of seven-straight away defeats.

And Van der Hoorn feels that shows the development in the squad.

“We showed good determination to come from behind,” said the Dutchman.

“It was a great effort from the boys, especially in the last 10 minutes. We had to grind out the result and put everything in.

“We were really pleased to hold on and it made the victory a lot sweeter.

“They were stupid goals to concede against Forest and Reading. We weren’t sharp enough. But you could see that we were a lot sharper in this game.

“I think we are a lot more mature this year and that is a great plus for us.”
