Swansea City felt they were unfortunate to come away with nothing after Cesc Fabregas’ goal secured victory for Chelsea at the Liberty Stadium over the weekend.

We take a look at all the key numbers following the Swans’ narrow defeat to the Blues.

2 – Carlos Carvalhal has lost back-to-back Premier League games for the first time as Swans boss. The opponents were two heavyweights, Manchester City and Chelsea, and Carvalhal reckons the nature of Saturday’s performance offers plenty of encouragement for the three games remaining this season.

14,315 – The Swans have played 14,315 passes in the Premier League this season, which is more than 10 clubs in the division.

213 – Alfie Mawson continues to lead the way at the Liberty when it comes to clearances, having made 213 of them in the Premier League this season. Federico Fernandez (194) is next, although he has played seven fewer league games.

1 – With 33 points from 35 games, the Swans are a point better off now than they were at the same stage last season. Last year they ended up 15th, seven points clear of the relegation zone.

51 – The Swans enjoyed 51 per cent of possession against Chelsea, and had as many shots on target (three) as their Champions League-chasing opponents.

5 – The Swans are five points clear of West Brom, who are bottom of the table, and five points adrift of Crystal Palace, who are 11th.

197 – Wayne Routledge made the 197th Premier League appearance of his Swans career on Saturday. He tops the list of most appearances in the division for the Swans, with Ashley Williams (181) second and Angel Rangel (168) third.
