Vital Statistics: Reading

2nd January
First team

Swansea City could not have wished for a better start to 2019 as they racked up their biggest win of the season by beating Reading 4-1.

Here, we take a look at the vital statistics from a memorable day at the Madejski Stadium.

4 - Connor Roberts scored his fourth goal of the season for club and country. Every time he has been on the scoresheet he has ended on the winning side. Having scored his three previous goals with his left foot, this was his first with his right.

9 - The only blot on Swansea's copybook was the late goal substitute Callum Harriott scored for the Royals, it denied the visitors a first clean sheet in nine games.

10 - Oli McBurnie's brace in Berkshire took the Scotland international's goal tally to 10 for the season. He is the first Swans player into double figures in 2018-19. This was also Swansea's 10th win of the season.

11 - The Swans are now unbeaten in 11 games against Reading dating back to 2008. They have won seven and drawn four along the way.

32 - Swansea's 4-1 win was their biggest away win in a league fixture since they triumphed by the same scoreline at West Ham in May 2016, 32 months ago.

36 - Victory moves the Swans up to 36 points for the season, taking them past the 33 they registered over the entirety of last season.

42 - The visitors had just a 42 per cent share of the ball at the Madejski Stadium, scoring from four of their five shots on target. The last time they had such a small share of possession was at Brentford, where they secured their previous away win with 37 per cent.
