Swansea City slipped to a painful defeat at Rotherham United on Saturday despite controlling much of the contest.

We check out the key numbers following Saturday’s 2-1 loss.

72 – The Swans had a whopping 72 per cent of possession at the New York Stadium.

7 – Oli McBurnie is up to seven goals for the season having followed up his Reading double with the Swans’ strike at Rotherham. Only six players have scored more than McBurnie in the Championship this term – Neal Maupay, Billy Sharp, Lukas Jutkiewicz, Lewis Grabban, Dwight Gayle and Jay Rodriguez.

17 – McBurnie’s latest strike ended a run of 17 away league games without a first-half Swans goal. They last netted in the opening 45 minutes of an away game when Leroy Fer found the target at Everton 11 months ago.

1 – McBurnie’s Rotherham goal was the first the Swans have scored on the road this season without Jefferson Montero on the pitch. The Swans hope Montero will be back in contention for next weekend’s trip to Bolton.

5 – The Swans have scored only five goals away from the Liberty this term. Only Rotherham and Millwall have managed fewer away goals in the second tier.

6 – However, the Swans record of six goals conceded on the road is the second best in the Championship. Only Middlesbrough (five) have been meaner on their travels.

4 – Daniel James has claimed four assists in his last three Swans appearances. He had never had one in senior football before this run began.

5 – The Swans are without a win in five away league games since that rousing comeback success at Millwall on September 1.

1,440 – Connor Roberts has played all 1,440 minutes of the Swans’ league campaign so far. He is the only player in Graham Potter’s squad to have achieved the feat.

81.5 – The Swans have the best pass accuracy rating in the Championship (81.5 per cent).
