Vitor Matos insists Swansea City will take a “full on” approach to their 2025-26 season finale as they look to make sure they end the campaign on a winning note against Charlton Athletic at the Swansea.com Stadium.

The Swans will round off a gruelling campaign in their own backyard as the Addicks make the journey from south London to south Wales having secured their Championship status for next term with victory over play-off chasing Hull City last weekend.

Matos’ side have enjoyed an outstanding home record since his November appointment, having the fourth-best record on their own turf in the Championship during that period.

And, with the head coach and his players desperate to round the season off with a positive performance and result, he has vowed the hosts will be at full throttle.

“I am only worried about the performance. It’s the last game of the season, we are in front of our fans in our stadium.

“It’s an important game in terms of what we can offer and the performance we want to put in.

“We will see where we end up after the game, but the most important thing for us is trying to win and to do that the performance needs to be there.

“We want to sign the season off in the right way, we want the mentality to stay the same and to continue to use our stadium as one of the places where we love to be.

“This season since I came here we have had that, and it’s clear we want to give everyone a good last day and so we need to be full on.

“Charlton is a very competitive team, they are aggressive, they mark man to man, they are quite direct and use long balls and long throws.

“They have a specific way of playing, and we have to be ready to compete and ready to put in a performance to make everyone proud.”
