Vitor Matos has urged his Swansea City side to keep the intensity levels up as they get set to face Queens Park Rangers at MATRADE Loftus Road tonight (7.45pm).

The Swans head to west London for the first of two away assignments this week, with a journey to East Anglia to face Norwich City lying in wait on Saturday.

Matos' side make the journey after a last-gasp home defeat against high-flying Southampton, with Swansea pushing the Saints all the way in an absorbing encounter.

The head coach feels over recent games the Swans have shown positive signs against a number of sides challenging near the top of the table.

But he has made clear he wants no let-up as the season enters its final couple of weeks.

"We have really pushed ourselves, we have faced some very good teams in this last run of games, everyone is fighting and you can see that from our performances," he said.

"This is positive for us, to show that mentality, so the challenge is for us to continue to show this approach.

"There are a lot of things that we need to learn, and I think these recent games have shown us clearly what those things are, whether they are tactical, or about maturity. We know where we need to improve.

"So, what's important now is that we get ourselves ready to go to QPR with the attitude that we want to go and win the game.

"We know it is important to try to be dominant, to try and be a pressing team, and to understand how to better control games.

"We have to keep working and keep fighting to have this kind of identity, because this is what will put us in a better position in the future."
