Vitor Matos saluted a “beautiful” clinching goal from Liam Cullen after the Wales international produced a superb late goal for the second home game in a row to seal victory over Stoke City.

The Swans were a goal to the good against the 10-man Potters heading into stoppage time at the Swansea.com Stadium when the ball fell for Cullen on the halfway line.

After taking a touch to get the ball out of his feet, the forward quickly spotted Tommy Simkin loitering near the edge of his area and floated the ball high over the retreating goalkeeper’s head to make it 2-0.

It followed on from an excellent header in stoppage time to secure a point against Preston North End, and Swans boss Matos saluted Cullen’s goalscoring instincts.

“We know Liam can do that, we know he has the goal in his mind,” said Matos.

“We know it and we try to use it in different ways.

“It’s the second home game in a row he has come on in and scored in stoppage time.

“But that’s Liam, it was a beautiful goal.

“It was a worldie, and I am sure it is one that is going to live long in his memory.”
