Vitor Matos | We have seen a good reaction on the training pitch
Head coach Vitor Matos has seen a positive reaction from his players on the training ground this week, and wants Swansea City to carry that into Saturday’s game against Stoke City.
The Swans suffered a 3-0 defeat at Ipswich Town last time out, with Matos challenging his players to learn from the manner of that loss and respond.
And the Portuguese has been pleased by the effort and edge he has seen at Fairwood as his side prepare for the visit of the Potters.
“The most important thing this week has been how the team reacted,” said Matos, who confirmed that Adam Idah and Zeidane Inoussa are the only injury absentees for Saturday’s home fixture.
“We have had a proper reaction, the training sessions we have had have been really good and the effort they have put in has been unbelievable.
“The commitment was excellent, and it’s about making sure we understand how to compete against these teams.
“It is small details that will make a big difference, and if we get them wrong we will be punished and they will be really clinical and precise.
“When you have that you need to understand that you have to get everything right across the 90 minutes.
“So it is an important lesson to learn, and the boys have reacted well. Now, we focus on making sure we have the performance we want against Stoke.”
