Vitor Matos | We need to keep pushing and keep believing
Vitor Matos has urged Swansea City to keep pushing themselves to improve and make sure they get their rewards when they face Oxford United tonight (7.45pm).
The Swans round off 2025 against the same opponents they faced when Matos recorded his first win as head coach earlier this month, and they will be cheered on by a sold-out away end.
While Swansea have won three in a row at home, they have also lost their last five games on their travels.
But Matos and his players had chances to leave each of their last three away games with something to show for their efforts, and the Swans boss wants his players to keep believing in the improvements they are making, and use that as fuel to make sure they start putting points on the board away from home.
"We have something to build on with the performances, even though we did not get anything out of the Coventry game, so now we have to be focused and ready for Oxford," he said.
"We are improving, and the better we get the better the chances we will have to win games. We are close, so we need to keep pushing ourselves to keep making those improvements.
"There are no moral victories in football, so we need to make sure that when we have these performances that we are fighting for the result because we know we need to be competing for wins and points.
"We need to believe that, and that is something I believe we will need to build from and that is what we will need to do to improve."
