Head coach Vitor Matos wants his Swansea City side to continue to show character and personality when they take on Championship leaders Coventry City this evening (5.15pm).

The Swans are unbeaten in 10 games at the Swansea.com Stadium, winning eight and drawing two games during that sequence.

But they will start as underdogs against a Coventry side who have topped the table for the majority of the season, and hold a handy advantage over the chasing pack ahead of the final run-in.

Matos is aware of the quality the visitors possess, but also feels Swansea have a great opportunity to underline the strides they have made over the last few months.

“It is clear we are facing a team with a lot of strengths and qualities,” he said.

“They have speed on the wings, good players in attack, they are a very strong team.

“They are well-organised, with and without the ball, and they are a team that deserve to be in the position they are.

“They have had big momentum in different parts of the season, and when you have that momentum you are very hard to play against.

“So, we need to have a good performance and we need to be the very best version of ourselves.

“This is what we will try, and we need show a lot of character and personality in how we play.

“We want to impose ourselves, and we will need the mentality to deal with tough moments and come through them without losing our focus and concentration.”
