Vitor Matos has called for maximum concentration from his Swansea City team ahead of their trip to face Stoke City, and believes the fixture in the Potteries is exactly the test they need to face after returning to winning ways.

The Swans ended a run of five-straight defeats with back-to-back victories over Oxford United and Portsmouth on home soil.

They now make the journey to the Potteries looking for a first win away from home since September, against a Potters side who have lost their last three games but who had previously been enjoying Stoke’s best campaign in the Championship since their relegation from the Premier League in 2018.

Matos knows a tough test lies in wait at a ground that has not been a happy hunting ground for the visitors, but it is one he wants his squad to embrace.

“Results mean the mood is good and we have some confidence,” he said.

“But we also play against a really tough opponent, we still have a lot to do, and this should be our focus.

“Stoke are a brilliant team, for me they are one of the best in the league with the way they play.

“They defend really well, they want to press, they have a clear idea of what they want to do and they have a number of different ways of attacking, they have a lot of variety in their play.

“They can create different kinds of problems with different players, so we will need our maximum concentration and perform to compete, and that’s what we are going to try and do.

“For sure, it will not be an easy place to go, but we are really looking forward to it as it will be a brilliant test for us as well”
