Swansea City head coach Vitor Matos felt the handsome 3-0 win at Derby County was testament to the contributions of the whole squad.

The Swans produced an exemplary away performance at Pride Park as they made it seven points from a possible nine in the Championship so far this term.

It was their biggest away win since a 4-0 victory at Huddersfield in April 2024, and extended their unbeaten run on their travels to six games.

Joseph Opoku set them on their way when his deflected strike opened the scoring inside two minutes, before Jisung Eom doubled the lead just before the break.

The visitors had chances to make the margin of victory greater, and took one when Ronald lashed how a low effort from the edge of the area.

It was an all-round team performance, and Matos was keen to stress that the quality of the performance had been down to the efforts of all involved.

"We have spoken about wanting to build that culture where it is a squad game, and that every person has a contribution to make," he said.

"This was a good game, we started really well and that gave us the platform and the calmness to face a team that is very difficult to play against, especially in their stadium.

"I am really happy with the performance, the maturity we showed. We had a clear way of competing and sustaining our game which pleased us most.

"We needed to use the full squad, and the players that came into the side and that came on from the bench made a big impact on the game and that is really helpful to have.

"The whole team put in a good performance. The strikers defended and pressed, the midfielders made the team compact and then the defenders could give us much more stability.

"It was a massive performance in a collective sense and I was really happy with that."

Matos also thanked the more than 1,300 members of the Jack Army who made the journey to the East Midlands, and the Portuguese feels the togetherness and bond between the team and the fans is tangible.

"For me, that feeling is the main part of everything," he said.

"When the belief is there, then the connection is there. We feel it very strongly at the moment and we need to make sure we protect this and take care of it by showing maturity and being humble."
