Wales call-ups for Academy youngsters

Nine Swansea City Academy youngsters have been called up to represent Wales during the current international break.

Wales Under-17s

Ifan Harding, Bobby Lewis and Alffi Hughes have all been named in Adrian Harvie's Wales Under-17s' squad for their camp in Spain.

Wales will face Switzerland on Wednesday September 23, followed by matches against Sweden on Friday September 25 and Northern Ireland on Monday September 28.

The training camp will aid preparations for the 2026-27 Uefa Under-17 Euro First Qualifying Round, which takes place in November. Wales will face the Republic of Ireland, Estonia and hosts Denmark in Group 1.

Wales Under-18s

Former Swans' left-back and Wales international Neil Taylor has named Alfie Jones in his first squad as the new head coach of Wales Under-18s.

The matches will be part of the side’s preparations for the 2028 Uefa Under-19 Euro qualifiers, which will begin in March. The draw for Round One will take place later this season.

The age-grade side will face Finland in a double-header on Saturday, October 3 and Monday, October 5 at Eerikkilä’s Sport and Outdoor Resort.

Wales Under-19s

Alex Godfrey, Carter Heywood, Kaven Bloniarczyk, Milo Robinson and Tom Wright have been named in Jon Grey's Wales Under-19s' squad.

Preparations for the second round of the Uefa Euro qualifying campaign begin for the under-19s with an international friendly tournament in Marbella, Spain.

Wales face the USA at Banus Football Centre on Tuesday, September 29 before taking on Norway on Friday, October 2 at Marbella Football Centre. 

Grey’s side will return to Marbella Football Centre three days later on Monday, October 5 to end the tournament against Northern Ireland.

Wales will face Finland, Iceland and 2026 tournament winners Spain in the second round of the Uefa Euro qualifying campaign, which will be hosted in Wales later this year.
