Luciano Narsingh insists Swansea City can cause a shock by getting a result at Manchester City.

Carlos Carvalhal’s men will begin as rank outsiders when they walk out to face the Premier League champions on Sunday (4.30pm).

Pep Guardiola’s star-studded team will be in action for the first time since second-placed Manchester United’s defeat by West Brom ensured they cannot be caught at the top of the table.

Manchester City are celebrating their third league title in seven seasons having dominated throughout a memorable campaign.

Yet Narsingh is adamant there will be belief in the away dressing room at the Etihad Stadium this weekend.

“Manchester City are a great team,” the Swans winger said.

“But this is a very important game for us and we believe we are capable of getting something from it.

“Nobody outside of Swansea will expect us to get anything, but if we play with the same energy and produce the same kind of performance that we did against Everton, we will have a chance.

“It will be a difficult game – Manchester City have had a great season – but we have to believe we can get something.”

Narsingh is hoping to recover from injury in time to feature against Guardiola’s men having been forced off during last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Everton.

The Dutch international made a positive impact having been handed his first Premier League start under Carlos Carvalhal but only lasted 45 minutes because of a twisted ankle.

“In the first half we put Everton under a lot of pressure,” Narsingh added.

“We had a lot of energy and created a lot of chances, but we were unfortunate not to score.

“We were unlucky to be losing at half-time, but we kept fighting and kept believing and we got a point which could be very important.”
