Steve Cooper says Swansea City’s only option is to produce a response following their heavy defeat at West Brom.

The Swans suffered a first away defeat of the season at The Hawthorns, being punished for a number of errors as the ruthless Baggies went back to the top of the Championship.

Cooper’s side will soon be back in action with Blackburn Rovers heading to the Liberty on Wednesday night, and the head coach knows what will be required back in SA1.

“We need to respond in the right way. We have just said to the players that we only have one option, and that is to make sure we put it right on Wednesday night against Blackburn,” he said.

“I think playing on Wednesday night can be a positive thing as the only thing we can do in this situation is put it right on the pitch.

“That’s where we are at, at the moment.

“A lot has rightly been said about not winning enough games at home, and we will not shy away from that.

“We look forward to playing there, and the only way to get over the challenge is by facing it head on.

“The frustrating thing is the culture and training ethic is a good one.

“I have no problems with the attitude or effort of the players, what we are questioning today is the decision-making and some of the naivety.

“I don’t feel any players are not with us, we are very together.

“We need to handle the criticism we will get from this game, because it will come, and make sure we get over it for Wednesday.”
