We're targeting 50 points, says Richards

Coach Gary Richards insists Swansea City Under-23s still have plenty to play for in Premier League 2, despite lifting the Division 2 title last month.

The development side face play-off chasing Aston Villa at Landore on Monday (7pm) as the Swans target their 16th league win of the season.

With two games left of the campaign the Swans sit on 46 points, and Richards is hoping to reach the 50-point mark.

“We are not taking the game lightly,” he said. “We might have won the league and gained promotion, but there is still plenty for us to play for.

“The team have set themselves a target to reach 50 points this season and we want to ensure we carry on our consistency with the results we have been getting.

“Villa are still fighting for a play-off place to gain promotion, so the players are well aware how tough a game it is likely to be"
