Wilfried Bony will move a step closer to a comeback this week when he rejoins his Swansea City team-mates on the training field.

Bony has been out of action since February after rupturing his cruciate ligament.

He played a partial role in training earlier this season, but his attempts to regain full fitness were hindered by a hamstring injury.

Bony is now poised to step back on to the grass alongside his team-mates as he builds towards a return to action.

Boss Graham Potter has stressed that the striker still has a way to go before he will be fit to play, but Bony is poised to take another step forward.

“Wilfried will join the group for part of the session on Thursday,” Potter said.

“He has been working hard with the medical staff and he will be involved in some of what we do.

“We will have to see how he adapts to that and how he responds to the football load, but he has put in a lot of work to get to this point.”
