Yori Griffith | The hard work must not stop
Midfielder Yori Griffith acknowledges that hard work and quality of play was vital to Swansea City Under-21s' win over Queens Park Rangers on Monday evening.
Griffith returned to the pitch and captained the side after a month out, picking up a slight hamstring injury in the Swans' 2-0 victory against Hull City in August.
And he returned in style bagging a brace on Monday evening to ensure the age-grade side returned to winning ways following defeat to Fleetwood Town last time on the road.
There were further goals from Joe Davies and Kai Rhodes for the Swans as QPR's Rayan Kolli - with plenty of EFL Championship experience - also got two goals to his name.
Swansea now sit fourth in the Professional Development League table, with three wins on the board.
"We're all pleased with the win, with the goals we scored and how we played," said Griffith.
"We definitely needed to bounce back from Fleetwood, I didn't play there but I know the boys were frustrated to have come away with a loss last week.
"Our counter press was something they couldn't deal with, and we scored four good goals in the end. We were disappointed to have conceded two in the second half, but we responded well.
"It's good to see our hard work paying off, but we're still very early into the season. Our playing identity is all about high press and being aggressive and when it benefits us through goals, it's great to see."
