Žan Vipotnik credits teammates and fans after Oxford winner
Žan Vipotnik paid tribute to his teammates and to the travelling Jacks after his 12th goal of the season helped Swansea City round off 2025 with victory at Oxford United.
The Slovenian striker headed home the only goal of the game when he rose to meet Josh Tymon's pinpoint cross and powered a header into the net.
A tireless performance without the ball allowed the Swans to control long periods of the game as they recorded a clean sheet on their travels and a first away win since September.
The goal was also Vipotnik's 10th in the Championship this term, but he was keen to highlight the contribution of his teammates to that tally.
"I am so thankful for the team, because if I do not have them around me and giving me the chances then maybe I would not have as many goals," he said.
"You see in this game that Tymo's assist was just brilliant.
"My thanks also goes to the gaffer. I am really happy here and enjoying my football.
"We are solid at the back, which is important for us and it is giving us confidence, and we hope that as we keep improving, the more wins there will be for us."
The forward also praised the Swans fans who sold out the away end at the Kassam Stadium, and he was pleased to round off their travels for the calendar year with a three-point haul given they rack up one of the highest mileage amounts of any fans in the top four divisions.
"It was nice to get that away win, but it was also nice to give something back to the fans," added Vipotnik.
"They have been travelling all through the year and I hope we will be able to give them more wins away from home because they deserve it.
"They travel in such big numbers and we know ourselves how far it is to get to the away games from Swansea.
"So I just want to thank all of them that were here and it was great to celebrate in front of them."
