Zan Vipotnik | The fans have been like a 12th player
Zan Vipotnik hailed the connection between the Swansea City team and the Jack Army after his brace helped secure yet another home victory against Blackburn Rovers.
The Slovenian took his tally for the season to 15 goals, and he now has six goals in his last nine appearances.
His goals bookended the 3-1 win over Rovers, which was a fifth victory in the last six home games and the Swans now have a haul of 16 points from their last six home league fixtures.
Head coach Vitor Matos has often spoken of the desire for the players to produce a brand of football and level of effort that excites and resonates with supporters, and Vipotnik feels that the bond has been a key part in Swansea's improvement of form.
"It was a tough game, one where you have to find the motivation inside yourselves to make sure you get the result," he said.
"I was pleased to score again, last season was a bad season for me, I wasn't myself but I have improved from last year and I hope I can continue to improve.
"The fans have been great to me and the team, we can feel their support and the atmosphere from the first minute.
"It is special to be play here, it is like we are playing with an extra player on the pitch. We enjoy playing here, and I think you can see that on the pitch.
"We need to find some consistency because our first halves have been strong and some of the second halves there has been a drop off. We need to improve on this but we are happy to have got another win in front of the fans."
