Zeidane Inoussa | To score feels like a weight off my shoulders, but I want more
Zeidane Inoussa admitted a weight had been lifted from his shoulders after the winger opened his goal account for Swansea City against West Bromwich Albion.
The Sweden Under-21 international got on the scoresheet as clever movement allowed Josh Key to pick him out in the middle, and he swept the ball into the far corner of the net to make it 2-2 late in extra-time.
Ultimately the Swans would exit the FA Cup on penalties against the Baggies and, while disappointed with the final result, Inoussa was pleased to break his duck.
“I have been waiting for this moment and it does feel like a weight off my shoulders,” he said.
“It has taken me a while so I am happy to have finally scored for Swansea and to help the team, although obviously it would have been even better if we had gone through.
“That feeling only makes me hungrier to try and contribute more, to score more and assist more.”
Having been knocked out of the cup, Swansea’s attention now turns to the Championship and upcoming back-to-back home games against Birmingham City and Blackburn Rovers.
And Inoussa wants the Swans to quickly bounce back and continue a run of home form in the league which has seen them win four Championship games in a row at the Swansea.com Stadium.
“I think we had the chances to make sure we went through, over the first half, the second half and in extra time,” added Inoussa.
“We didn’t take them and when you go to penalties it’s a lottery so it’s disappointing.
“The fact is we need to now focus on the next test, which is Birmingham, and make sure we bounce back.
“Our home form has been very good in the league, and we want to continue that and start another good run.”
