Swansea City is pleased to announce the first City Business Network (CBN) event of 2024, titled ‘Defend & Attack – protecting your digital landscape’.

The event will be hosted by Mal Pope on Tuesday 5 March at the Swansea.com Stadium, with arrival from 9am.

Attendees will be joined by guest speaker Greg van der Gaast, infamous hacker, turned undercover FBI operative. An advisor, CISO, author, mentor, and speaker, Greg was once cited as one of the world’s five most notorious hackers and worked undercover for the US FBI and DoD for three years after setting off an international incident by breaking into a nuclear weapons facility.

Greg will also speak about cybersecurity trends and why security fails, the importance of strategy, leadership and culture in IT and security and rethinking the security skillset.

We will also be joined by Ian Owen, group sales director of Owens Group, who will share his experiences of cyber security within one of the UK’s leading family-owned Transport, Warehousing & Distribution companies.

As an established industry leader, Damon Rands, Founder and CEO of PureCyber, will provide information on practical steps that all businesses can take to mitigate risk and strengthen cyber resilience. 

The event will be free of charge for City Business Network members and club partners, and £30 for non-members. If you are not a member, you will be contacted by a member of the commercial team for payment.
