PL Primary Stars Tonnau Primary

Premier League Primary Stars

Premier League Primary Stars uses the appeal of professional football clubs to inspire children to learn, be active and develop important life skills through the power of sport.

The programme aims to develop the whole child by looking to improve their physical literacy, classroom engagement and develop a healthier and more positive lifestyle.

Available to every primary school in England and Wales, it engages girls and boys aged 5-11 in the classroom, the playground and on the sports field.

Learning is connected to the real world of sport to ignite pupils' hardworking attitudes; especially when tackling challenging PSHE topics such as resilience, diversity, self-esteem and fair-play.

Every lesson has a strong link to the National Curriculum with a number of cross-curricular sessions that cover everything from Maths and English to teamwork and PE. Lessons already have a consideration of the four core purposes with inclusions of some areas of learning and experience.

Everything we offer to primary schools is underpinned by our Premier League values, which encourages children to:

  • Be ambitious – work hard and never give up on their goals
  • Be inspiring – set a great example to others
  • Be connected – work well with others and in a team
  • Be fair – treat people equally and think of others

High-quality resources have been developed in partnership with primary school teachers and subject experts, such as the PSHE Association and National Literacy Trust. With a number of activity ideas, worksheets, lesson plans, fun assemblies and exclusive videos accessible from the free and easy-to-use website: plprimarystars.com

Registered schools will have the opportunity to apply for free kit, equipment and books from celebrated children’s authors at certain times throughout the year.

A priority of the programme is to leave a lasting legacy with every individual we work with, whilst in primary schools, we also work closely with teachers and staff members to increase their competence and confidence in PE specifically.

The programme is delivered in a number of different ways to meet the needs of each school and its learners. We currently offer packages from one term to the whole school year, incorporating a number of engaging opportunities to inspire every pupil we meet.

These include stadium visits, player and ambassador appearances, school sports days, collapsed curriculum days and representing us at national tournaments, while there are also lots of prizes to be won along the way.
