Aberdeen clinch Tate loan

3rd January

Swansea City defender Alan Tate has joined Scottish Premier League side Aberdeen on loan for the rest of the season.
The 31-year-old will bolster Derek McInnes' defensive options at Pittodrie as the Dons - currently third in the table - look to build on their fine start to the season.
This will be Tate's second loan spell this season, having spent a temporary stint at Yeovil Town where he made six appearances for the Championship club before a hamstring injury cut short his time at Huish Park.
Tate, who captained the Swans in their first Barclays Premier League fixture in 2011, last featured for the club in the home defeat to Everton in September 2012.
But he now heads to Pittodrie aiming to boost Aberdeen's push for European football, and he will go straight into the squad for Sunday's league clash at Kilmarnock.
Tate becomes the second Swan to leave the Liberty on loan this week, with young defender Daniel Alfei heading to Portsmouth on a one-month deal on Thursday.
