Alan Sheehan | We are very frustrated
Head coach Alan Sheehan admitted the overwhelming emotion was frustration after Swansea City were held to a 1-1 draw by Millwall after taking the lead at the Swansea.com Stadium.
The Swans had much the better of the opening half hour, and had deservedly opened the scoring when Zan Vipotnik deftly turned in his sixth goal of the season from Ronald's shot.
Zeidane Inoussa had also seen a shot flick the post with the Swans making all the running, but Millwall levelled in the final seconds of the first half when Josh Coburn nodded in from close range.
The second half was a stop-start affair for long periods, but the home side ended the game the stronger and felt they should have been awarded a penalty for a challenge on Vipotnik in the closing stages.
"The emotion is definitely frustration," said Sheehan.
"The first 25 minutes we were excellent. We came out on the front foot, we created numerous opportunities and we got the goal.
"We needed to continue that to try and get the second, which we did do, and then the last 10 minutes of the first half we did not deal well enough with direct play.
"They got a bit of forward momentum and territory, which was exactly what we said it would be like, and then we give away a set-piece on the stroke of half-time and we concede. It's very, very disappointing.
"We need to smell blood and be clinical in both boxes. These are the fine margins, at the moment these draws feel like losses, and we have to find a way to get on the right side of those margins."
Sheehan also felt the decision not to award a spot-kick for the challenge on Vipotnik, when it appeared that the Slovenian had his shirt pulled by Jake Cooper as he prepared to shoot from a Josh Tymon cross, was incorrect.
"It's a stonewall penalty," he said.
"I think it is very, very clear and you have to get those decisions right.
"It's a penalty and these are the margins between winning or drawing games."
