Alex Samuel Newport County

13th January

Swansea City winger Alex Samuel has joined League Two side Newport County on loan until the end of the season.
The 21-year-old, who was on loan at Scottish Championship side Greenock Morton last season, netted the Swans' winner against County during their 2-1 Checkatrade Trophy victory at Rodney Parade in October.
The Neath-born winger, who has made ten appearances for the development squad this season, also scored against Stoke City U23s in their Premier League 2 win earlier this campaign.
Samuel looks set to go straight into the Graham Westley's squad for the game against Colchester United tomorrow.
"Alex brings pace and power." The Newport boss said. "He can play wide or up top. And as we all know, pace can change games.
"The Checkatrade Trophy game at Newport was a good advert for what Alex can do. His threat was constant and his winning goal was well deserved."
