Anthony Wright pleased with performance and quality of goals from U21s

Coach Anthony Wright was extremely pleased with Swansea City Under-21s' performance as they kicked off their Premier League Cup campaign with a 4-2 victory over Premier League Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Yori Griffith opened the scoring at the Aggborough Stadium with three minutes on the clock with a curling strike. But the lead only lasted a mere 20 minutes as Fletcher Holman's follow-up shot found the back of the net.
But second-half goals from Thomas Woodward, Blair McKenzie and Bobby Wales ensured the Swans got three points on the board in Group G.
Wolves' Ethan Sutherland pulled a goal back in the closing stages with a thunderous free-kick, but it was only a consolation for the hosts.
"I am very pleased with the outcome against a very strong category one team. We started the game on front foot, and I’m so pleased with the first goal, it’s what we work on tirelessly to dominate the ball and play from the back through the thirds to create chances, the goal was an outstanding team effort," said Wright, whose side will also face Nottingham Forest and Millwall in the group stage.
"Wolves' goal was disappointing, it was an individual error and that put us going in to half time at 1-1.
"In the second half, we spoke to the players about winning their individual duels all over the pitch when we press. That was the case second half, we won so many individual duels and forced Wolves to go long so this didn’t give them a platform of control.
"We scored and created numerous chances second half, and we got one set-piece goal and, again, two very good team goals.
"We stayed focused as a team and managed to see out the game which is very pleasing. Category one games give us a different test physically and mentally, so I am pleased the team played as well as they did and full credit to the players."
