Anthony Wright rues missed chances after late draw
Coach Anthony Wright rued missed opportunities as Swansea City Under-21s were held to a 2-2 draw against Watford on Friday afternoon.
The Swans led the game twice. Thomas Woodward opened the scoring before Conrad Hunt levelled just before the break.
Josh Pescatore had deservedly restored the Swans' lead in the 82nd minute but Nicoloz Chikovani struck with a powerful effort deep into stoppage time to salvage a point for the Hornets.
Swansea had suffered their first defeat at the Swansea.com Stadium against Peterborough United in midweek and, despite the late setback, Wright felt his side had shown a good reaction to that rare home loss.
"There were times where we looked a real good team, and there were times where we looked the total opposite," said Wright.
"Throughout the game, we had opportunities to score goals, I think we missed some chances that I'd expect us to score from, then we've made opportunities where we've made mistakes in the final third which has cost us.
"Watford threw everything at us in the last 10 minutes and created many chances. We've dropped two points on the basis of not being able to put the game to bed when we're ahead.
"At the moment, it's quite a difficult time for the players and from what I can see, we are a yard off of where we want to be at the moment.
"There's learning elements for the players and we spoke about that at full time, but I can't fault that they gave us a reaction after Tuesday's performance."
