Bony close to signing new Swans deal

6th November

Wilfried Bony is set to give the Swans a massive boost after admitting he's close to signing a new contract at the Liberty.
The Ivorian has revealed he is close to putting pen to paper on a new one-year extension to tie him up to the Swans until the summer of 2018.
Bony proved a huge hit in his first season at the Liberty following his club-record move from Vitesse Arnhem, scoring 25 goals in all competitions which earned him four awards at the club's end-of-season dinner.
He has already found the net four times in ten Barclays Premier League appearances this season, with the Swans currently in sixth place ahead of Sunday's home clash with Arsenal.
And the 25-year-old, who scored twice for his country during the World Cup in Brazil last summer, said an extended contract would be "perfect" for him.
"Negotiations are going very well. Hopefully things will be done this week," said Bony, who has two-and-half years left on his current contract.
"I have a great relationship with my team-mates, the staff and fans.
"It is a fantastic club and I am I am happy to be here.
"I am focussed on Swansea and a one-year extension would be perfect for me."
