Bony granted work permit

23rd July

Swansea City are pleased to announce that club record signing Wilfried Bony has today been granted a work permit.
The £12million signing from Vitesse Arnhem is expected to join the squad for training on Thursday, and could feature in Saturday's friendly at Championship side Reading.
Bony, 24, scored 31 goals in 30 league games last season as he was named the Eredivisie's top scorer along with claiming the Dutch Player of the Year title.
The Ivory Coast international featured in the Swans' final Dutch tour friendly against ADO Den Haag as he came off the bench in the second half of the 1-0 victory.
Bony will now form part of Michael Laudrup's Europa League squad, with the first leg of the club's third qualifying round tie against either Hibernian or Malmo taking place at the Liberty on Thursday, August 1.
Ticket information for this game will be posted on our website today.
Meanwhile, for Saturday's final pre-season friendly with Reading (3pm), we have requested a small amount of extra tickets which will be at the Liberty Stadium Ticket Office on Wednesday after fans snapped up the first batch received from the Royals.
Supporters are reminded they can only purchase tickets on a reduced price for this game if they collect them from the Ticket Office at the Liberty.
