Borja: Swans move "most important" of his career

Club-record signing Borja Baston has described his move to Swansea City as the most important decision of his career - then vowed to repay the faith with performances and goals.
The striker joined the Swans today following his £15.5million transfer from La Liga giants Atletico Madrid.
Borja's fee tops that of the previous record transfer at the Swans, which stood at £12m to prise Wilfried Bony from Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem in 2013.
And the 23-year-old insists the transfer fee will have a positive effect on him as he begins life in the Premier League.



"There is pressure, but it is good pressure," said Borja, via a translator. "I want to repay the transfer fee paid for me with good performances and results.
"It's difficult to set a target of goals, but my mantra is take it goal by goal. Hopefully I can score a lot of goals.
"It is the most important decision of my career. I want to settle and spend several years here.
"I am very happy to be here. I am eager to contribute to the success of the team."
Having spent time on loan with five clubs - Murcia, Huesca, Deportivo La Coruna, Real Zaragoza and Eibar - the Spaniard is now looking to set roots in Swansea.
A graduate of the Atletico Madrid academy, Borja scored 64 goals in 159 during his loan spells with Murcia, Huesca, Deportivo La Coruna, Real Zaragoza and Eibar.
He becomes the 16th Spaniard to have represented Swansea, joining Angel Rangel, Jordi Amat and recent signing Fernando Llorente at the Liberty.
And he's hoping to make a similar impact made by his fellow countrymen.



"There has been a lot of success with Spanish players here. I hope to do the same for Swansea," he added.
"I played with Jordi in the youth levels with Spain. He is a very good player and it will be great to be in the same team as him again.
"It is great for me to have Spanish players in the team, but I want to learn English as quickly as possible to integrate into the team and get to know my team-mates."
Borja could get his first taste of Premier League action this weekend as the Swans kick off their campaign at Burnley.
Francesco Guidolin's side head to Turf Moor to take on the newly-promoted Clarets, with Borja hopeful of making his debut.
He added: "I would love to play this Saturday, but I will have to speak to the manager to see if he wants me to be involved."
