Leon Britton hopes to be back in contention when Swansea City face Brighton and Hove Albion this weekend.

The Swans skipper missed last Saturday’s defeat at Arsenal after picking up a minor groin injury in training.

But if all goes to plan, Britton will be available to face the Seagulls at the Liberty Stadium.

The midfielder had been close to making the trip to Arsenal only to be ruled out on the eve of the game.

“The groin’s feeling a little bit better,” Britton said.

“It was frustrating to miss the Arsenal game, but I’m hoping I might be available for Saturday.

“I’ve been getting some treatment, so it’s about seeing how things go.

“But if everything goes well, I’m hoping to be back training ahead of the Brighton game and available for selection.”
