Cameron Tochack Checkatrade Trophy

9th January

Coach Cameron Toshack has encouraged fans to come out and support Swansea City under-21s in their third round Checkatrade Trophy game against Wolves Academy at the Liberty Stadium on Tuesday (7pm).
The young Swans are three games from a Wembley final following December's second-round win over Norwich under-21s. Meanwhile, Wolves youngsters beat Sunderland's academy 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw at Molineux.
Swansea go into the game off the back of seven game winning stretch in all competitions, and the knowledge that goals from Marvin Emnes, Daniel James and Owain Jones helped the side beat Wolves 4-3 in Premier League 2 earlier this season.
Despite that, Cameron Toshack knows the young side must be at their best if they are to progress to the quarter-final.
"We can't and won't be complacent," he said. "They are an excellent academy side with some exceptional technical and creative players.
"Both sides know each other very well and we have had some exciting battles over the past few seasons, including our victory this campaign. I am sure Tuesday's game will be no different.

"We have performed very well in the first half of the season and started the New Year with a win over Blackburn last week. That victory was not pretty, we had to roll their sleeves up and grind out a result, so we know we need to make improvements.
"We want Swans supporters to get behind this next generation of talent we have coming through our youth system and come out and support the side on Tuesday.
"This young side is very talented and have a lot of potential. They will thrive off fans supporting them at the Liberty Stadium.
"This will be a tough test. Wolves have had a series of good runs this season and, like us, have beaten EFL teams in round one. It will be a very competitive game and one I am sure our fans will enjoy."
