Cameron Toshack Brighton Swansea City Under-23s

21st November

Cameron Toshack has called on Swansea City Under-23s to show what they have learned from a run of three cup games in tonight's Premier League 2 fixture against Brighton (7pm).
Despite a loss against Southampton in the Premier League Cup, the young Swans beat Plymouth Argyle in the Checkatrade Trophy before a 0-0 draw against Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb in the International Cup.
A win 2-1 over Stoke in October sees the development squad maintain top spot in the Division 2 table as they return to league action against the Seagulls.
And Toshack wants to see the youngsters build on their success from the last three weeks.
"We are really looking forward to getting back into league action," the U23s coach said. "The league is a high objective for us and we want to build on our successful start to the season.

"Gary (Richards) and myself want to see our team consolidate what they have learned as we head into this next stretch of games and continue to progress with our style of play.
"The players deserve a lot of credit for the professionalism and performances they delivered with four games over 12 days.
"With seven games between now and Christmas we have a lot more fixtures to come. We are not concerned whether they are league or cup - each game is an opportunity for our players to learn and develop.
"This is an important phase for us. Brighton play a similar attacking style of football like we do, so it should be a good test."
