Tom Carroll hopes his first pre-season at Swansea City will ensure he'll be in prime shape for the 2017-18 campaign.

Carroll is preparing for a first full year at the Liberty following his January switch from Tottenham.

The midfielder, who spent a successful loan spell with the club in 2014-15, now looks forward to the new campaign after playing a significant role in last season’s successful survival bid.

“It’s my first pre-season with the Swans and I’ve really enjoyed it,” said Carroll, who made 17 appearances under Paul Clement last season.

“Being away in America allowed us to work further on fitness while it was great to get some games under our belt against teams who are well into their season.

“For me, last season went well. I started well when I joined, and I’m glad I played my part in helping the team stay up.

“Now I’m looking forward to my first full season here. Hopefully the team and myself can really push on.”

Please note, tickets for Saturday's pre-season friendly against Birmingham City at St Andrew's are now only available on the day. Cash only at the turnstiles.
