Celebrities turn out in force for SwansAid
31st May
This year's celebrity match proved to be another success on a fun-filled afternoon at the Liberty Stadium.
Following on from last year's record-breaking event, soap star Adam Woodyatt returned to SA1 to captain one team while X-Factor contestant Jake Quickenden skippered the Red team.
Meanwhile, a number of former Swans players returned to their old stomping ground as Guillem Bauza, Fede Bessone and Andy Robinson all featured alongside Lee Trundle.
There was plenty of pre-match entertainment on offer at the Liberty, with a funfair in operation as well as a music set from local band Who's Molly.
But the game itself wasn't short on action, with Trundle scoring a superb solo goal after just three minutes to the delight of the home crowd.
However, the Reds quickly found their feet and raced into a 5-1 lead thanks to a brace from Jake Quickenden and further strikes from Harvey, Dean Gaffney and an Enzo Maccarinelli own goal.
But the game soon turned on its head as Trundle grabbed his hat-trick and fellow Swans favourite Andy Robinson netted a brace to make it 5-5, before Harvey put the Reds back in front before the break.
The second half was just as exciting as Sam Bailey made it 6-6 before Franky Fyer scored twice before harvey found the net again to give the Reds a 9-6 lead.
But it was soon all square as Bailey scored her second and Trundle and Robinson combined to make it 9-9 with just under 20 minutes to play.
Both teams traded another two goals apiece as the game was levelled at 12-12 before three late goals from Quickenden, Bessone and Harvey secured victory for the Reds!
