The Paul Popham Fund is Swansea City’s featured charity for this evening’s fixture against Blackburn, with a bucket collection taking place at the Liberty Stadium.

There are around 10,000 people with renal disease in Wales, and even more at risk. As a registered charity based in Swansea, the Paul Popham Fund Renal Support Wales aims to support all kidney patients in Wales with the hope of achieving a better quality of life.

They achieve this by putting patients first, providing support, advice and information services through their befriending team and by funding projects that benefit the welfare and well-being of kidney patients in Swansea.

Their dedicated befriending service is going from strength to strength. This service is designed to help kidney patients by pairing them up with other patients who have been in the same position.  Befrienders are trained to provide advice and guidance to patients struggling to cope or come to terms with their diagnosis.

Fundraising is vital to the progression of the charity, and as well as organising their own events, they also have teams of volunteers that compete in various sporting events around the country.

To support the charity at our home fixture against Blackburn, please give what you can to the bucket collectors who will be stationed in the main concourses in the South, West and East stands. With your support, the Paul Popham Fund can make a real difference to those suffering with renal difficulties in Wales.

To keep up to date on what events they have planned, or to maybe consider entering and fundraising for their cause, please visit their website - www.paulpophamfund.co.uk, or give them a ring on 0333 2001 285.
