Chico: Spanish experience can help Swans

18th September

Chico Flores believes the Swans' Spanish contingent can give their side a helping hand in Thursday's Europa League tie at Valencia on Thursday night.
The Swans kick off the Group Stage with a trip to the Mestalla Stadium to take on the two-time Champions League runners-up.
For the eight Spaniards within the Swans squad, it is a return to a ground in which they are hugely familiar with - no more so than former Valencia star Pablo Hernandez.
And Chico, who was at Mallorca along with Michael Laudrup, believes the experience of playing already at the Mestalla will help his team-mates as they look to start the campaign on a positive note.
"Myself and all the Spanish players at Swansea are very happy to be playing here again in Spain," said the centre-back in today's press conference at the Mestalla.
"It can help that we have played here at the Mestalla before - I can tell my team-mates what to expect.
"The fans make a lot of noise here and it will be a difficult match, although I don't think I've lost here yet.
"Valencia are one of the biggest clubs in Spain, but we are hoping to get a positive result."
