City Business Network event proves big hit
City Business Network members were treated to an exclusive event with Swans boss Graham Potter, club ambassador Leon Britton and Sky Sports presenter Michelle Owen.
Hosted at the Liberty Stadium, the trio offered their expertise and insight from their profession and how it can be transferred into various workplaces during the business master class event.
Members were treated to an insight into Potter’s first months in charge of the Swans, some of the fundamental long-term changes he’s begun the process of implementing, and some of his more well-known behind-the-scenes strategic implementations from his time at Swedish club Ostersund.
He was joined on stage by club legend Britton and Sky Sports presenter Owens for an evening themed around ‘Change and Evolution’ in the workplace, and how sporting examples can transverse in to a business environment.

The City Business Network launched in March 2018 and was aimed at bringing Swansea-supporting businesses together around four key themed events unique to the South Wales area.
“We found it very useful” remarked Lisa Morgan, Chief Operating and Commercial Officer at Castle Leisure.
“Whilst the match days are useful for entertaining our own customers, sometimes this is at the cost of meeting new clients and customers so events like this are really useful for us to spend time with businesses of a common theme of an affinity of the football club.
“Furthermore some of the examples given by Michelle, Leon and certainly Graham transcend more than sport and can be replicated in our own businesses.”
The next City Business Network event is to be held on November 29 featuring Professor Laura McAllister, ex-chair of Sport Wales and national football team captain, conducting a session on ‘Transformational Leadership’.
