Confident Bafe aiming high

7th April
In-form striker Bafe Gomis hopes his new-found confidence in front of goal can help fire the Swans to a sky-high finish to their Barclays Premier League campaign.
The Frenchman struck a classy double against Hull on Saturday to guide the Swans to a 3-1 victory and 46 points.
And having also scored the winner at Aston Villa in the previous encounter, Gomis admits that he's loving life at the Liberty after a difficult start battling for game time.
"I had a difficult first half of the season because I didn't play much,'' declared Gomis. "I've had lots of difficult times, but I'm thankful to everyone at the club, the supporters and my teammates for their support.
"It's important to be liked for strikers. Since I've been in Wales the supporters have been great with me and the way I celebrated the first goal with them was to show them how much I appreciate their support. It was my way of saying thank you.
"The fans have always stuck by me and been patient with me. That's why I was very happy to help the team get an important three points against Hull for them.
"I'm working hard in training and I'm getting my confidence back.''
Gomis's double took his tally to nine for the season, with six of those coming in the league.
"I'm very happy to get on the scoresheet again,'' added Gomis.
"I don't have a goals target for this season. I just want to score as many goals as possible to help Swansea finish the season as high in the league as we can and break the record of 47 points.''
