Steve Cooper praised an all-round team effort from Swansea City, but highlighted the displays from Connor Roberts and Ben Cabango in victory over Luton Town.

Roberts was on the scoresheet for the second time in six days as his deflected strike gave the Swans the lead inside two minutes at the Liberty, with Andre Ayew sealing the win late on.

And Cabango turned in a fine display as the hosts kept yet another clean sheet, to leave Cooper with nothing but warm words for his pair of Wales internationals.

“Connor is playing really well,” said Cooper, he was as frustrated as anyone after Middlesbrough and I sensed he was determined to put it right and he did that.

“He was very sound defensively which is very important in how we want to play with our wing-backs, and then offered a real threat going forward, getting in the box and being part of a few good combinations.

“We are pleased with Connor, but I have to say I was pleased with everyone today.

“I thought Ben Cabango was brilliant after a tough night on Wednesday. He was not alone in that, by the way, but that was a brilliant experience for him as a young player.

“I said to him yesterday that it will make him a better player.

“To be an established player you have to go through ups and downs, and Wednesday was a little bit of a down.

“But I am so proud of the way he bounced back today, and I was so proud of his performance.”
