Connor Roberts is looking forward to tucking into the festive fixtures as Swansea City prepare for a packed Christmas schedule.

Steve Cooper’s side play four games in 12 days over the Christmas and New Year period, starting with Saturday’s trip to Luton Town.

The Swans are on their travels once more on Boxing Day as they visit Brentford before home clashes with Barnsley (December 29) and Charlton (January 2).

And Wales international Roberts is bursting with excitement as the Swans face the prospect of playing on average once every three days during that period.

“I love this period because it’s games, games, games,” said the 24-year-old, who has played 25 times already for club and country this season.

“You have to manage your training and that’s something I’ve changed to benefit myself. When I was younger I would run around like a headless chicken flying into tackles. That is fine for some, but I’ve managed myself in training and tweaked it a bit.

“I think that helped me be in a position to play nearly 60 games a season – which I’ve done in the past - for club and country.

“It’s great for the fans too. The Boxing Day games are big occasions for supporters, and the Christmas period in general is a time which the fans really enjoy.

“Hopefully we can give our fans an early Christmas present with three points at Luton on Saturday.”
