Connor Roberts says Wayne Routledge’s fine form since returning to the Swansea City line-up should not be a surprise to anyone.

Experienced winger Routledge played a key role in the build-up to Courtney Baker-Richardson’s goal at Preston on the weekend.

That was just part of an impressive showing from the 34-year-old, who has featured heavily and performed strongly since being recalled to the side for the win at Brentford early in December.

Academy product Roberts has been able to observe the former Tottenham and Crystal Palace man as a fan and team-mate for several seasons, and feels he is showing just what quality he possesses.

"Wayne has come in recently and we all know how good he is. I certainly know because I have been watching him for years," said Roberts.

"We all know how good he is in tight areas and getting away from things and you could see his quality in the goal.

"The disappointment was there should have been more from us in attack and we should have scored a couple more."
