Alan Curtis is set to make a final appearance in a Swansea City shirt in Alan Tate’s testimonial.

Curtis is set for a cameo role for Tate’s Swans Legends side as they take on a Manchester United Legends XI at the Liberty Stadium on Wednesday, August 9 (7pm).

The 63-year-old needs no introduction to Swans fans having served the club for most of his life.

Curtis, a hugely talented forward, was a key figure in the Swans side who climbed from Division Four to the top flight in the late 1970s and early 1980s under John Toshack.

He had three different stints as a Swans player and has filled a string of roles at the club since becoming a coach.

Now the Swans’ loan player manager, fans’ favourite Curtis is to play for what is likely to be the last time in the club’s colours on what should be a memorable night.

Curtis joins Garry Monk, Leon Britton, Roberto Martinez, Andy Robinson, Lee Trundle, James Thomas, John Williams, Adrian Forbes, Roger Freestone, Angel Rangel and Ferrie Bodde in agreeing to play for the Swans Legends side, which will be managed by Brendan Rodgers and Brian Flynn.

The United team is being assembled by ex-Red Devils midfielder Darren Fletcher, who grew up alongside Tate in the Old Trafford youth ranks.

Tickets for Tate’s testimonial are priced at £12 for adults and £6 for children.

They are available through the Liberty Stadium website here https://www.eticketing.co.uk/ssmc/Events/Index the ticket office in person or by phone on 0844 815 6665.
