Cutting the cost of travel

23rd August

In a bid to help ease the financial burden of rising travel costs, Swansea City will be running a series of promotions over the course of the season to thank those Swans fans hitting the road to away games.
To kick off the initiative, Swans supporters travelling with Swansea City's Travel Club to White Hart Lane for Sunday's Barclays Premier League clash with Spurs will receive a £15 discount off a future away booking.
Also, all fans attending the fixture at West Brom on Sunday, September 1 (1.30pm) will receive a free customised limited edition 'Travelling Jacks' scarf for every ticket purchased.
Fans should keep their ticket stubs from the game and redeem them at the club shop from Monday, September 2 for the scarf.
Swansea City vice-chairman, Leigh Dineen, said: "With the rising price of travel, the club has given great consideration to how we can most effectively help our supporters.
"Whether it's enhancing the away experience or cutting costs of tickets, we are doing everything we can to show our gratitude for the fantastic support we have received over many years."
Initiatives and promotions are to be announced steadily over the course of the season, taking into account the distance and popularity of the fixture. It will cover a wide variety of cost cutting measures with ticket discounts, programme promotions and merchandise offers already in the frame.
For those who have booked with Swansea City's Travel Club for Sunday's match against Spurs, supporters should collect their numbered voucher from their coach steward. Terms and conditions apply.
Please note, for both promotions there are a limited number of vouchers and scarves available. While every effort will be made to made to meet the demand, this may not always be possible.
